so yeas its a great car its also right at the time period when allot of maintenance is due makes sure some of it has been done (timing belt and water pump are the biggest thing) if it is still on original struts and shocks they usually only last 120K or so not much more check for oil leak and anything like that.
Honestly Audi is still one of the cheaper cars to maintain in its class BMW is slightly more expensive for most models and MB can be just outright exorbitant.|||Yes, mbar3, if you are going to give an outrageous comment about the upkeep of a european car such as an audi, consider that given proper care, a euro or whatever kind of car can last well over 200k miles. To the $60-100 dollar oil changes, I can't argue tho. I change my own dang oil ($20@autozone)

|||Timing belt needs replacement ASAP. This runs around $1200. Likely that the spark plugs and ignition tune up is required after. That duel exhaust will require new O2 sensors (4 of them at $120 each) and the catalytic converters (2 for $400) in few years. After all that repair, the car should be reliable up to 200K miles. However, if you want comfortable ride, you would need to replace 4 shocks, springs, tie rods, control arms, thrust arms, ... pretty much all suspension components to keep that sharp steering control.
It is a good car to drive. As for keeping it serviced, just make more money so it wouldn't be a burden on your finance.|||This is a good car but if money is tight you may want to pass. I have driven VW and Audi's for years and love them. However once these cars hit 100,000 you need to look close at a couple of things. First is it an automatic? If so has the service been done on it? Next loom close a the steering rack that's very expensive roughly $2,000. Next have the control arms been done on the front? Those also wear out and can cost $1,000 to replace. Next like others have said is the timing belt on these cars. The V6 takes about 8 hours or so to do, plus the cam timing gear on the motor tends to leak oil.
If these things have all been done the car will go many miles with normal maintenance. Take it to a VW Audi shop you can trust before you buy it.|||If it is not a diseal don't buy it.
