How much does it normally cost to replace an Audi a4 clutch?

I have a 1999 Audi A4 2.8L if that helps.|||Normally? LOL - It depends on where you get the bill from...

Audi Service wanted $2700 min.. Found an independent VW/Audi/MB shop that charged $980

So.... Plan on spending $1000 to $2500 or more on the following:

-labor is 8-11hrs "usually"

-you can get an OEM Sachs A4 Clutch Kit for $200-$500+

-the flywheel should always be resurfaced or replaced depending on the condition. $100-$500+

you can see what's involved from this DIY tech article for the 1.8 A4: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng48.shtm鈥?/a>|||$12-1500. The labor is what will kill you.
