owner reviews:
Since I began with this car, there has been a problem with the transmission. Although service people say that it is "within manufacturer's specifications," the car will not down shift properly and seems to be in the wrong (too high a gear for the speed) gear alot of the time. It is annoying, but also unsafe when you need a quick acceleration at 40mph and you're in 6th gear. Coolant began to leak after 18,000 miles, it needed a new part that had to ordered from Germany which took 4 weeks to arrive. My other A4(2003) had a fuel pump that blew after 25,000 miles. Am I just unlucky? No, I'd call this car unreliable.
Engine is noisy. Also some parts of the interior have come loose and rattle going over bumps in the road. Alarm system works intermittently.
Slight lag at the startup. Terrible Pirelli Four Season tires - had the car for less than 2 weeks and got a flat tire. Warranty did not cover it and it cost $200 to replace.|||I do believe you may have just had some bad luck. For one, I have only owned Audi vehicles since I have started driving. I have only had one problem with my 2001 Audi since I have owned it, and that was turbo bearings. Yet that car is my track car, I can not blame the car or the company.
