I'm just wondering, what is the difference between an Audi A8 and Audi S8?
What are the benefits of one or the other? I'm confused by the S Series and A series, i thought they were one in the same, but what exactly are the differences? Which one is better?
Thanks for the help =)|||The S8 is a sportier version of the A8. They are essentially the same car it's just the S8 will have a few subtle cosmetic differences i.e. bigger wheels, silver wing mirrors etc. it will however have a much more powerful engine. It will also be a little bit more "driver focussed", so it will have better suspension and will handle better.
The S8 is a better car than the A8, however it really depends what you want. the A8 is a perfectly good car on it's own. It's luxurious, safe etc, but if you want all that plus some performance then you would go for the S8.
Hope that helps|||I'm an Audi technician, and I can tell you that they share the same body. The S-8 has air suspension standard, and you can have it with the 5.2 liter V-10. The older models had the Volkswagen W-12 (I do not recommend this engine. Too complex and expensive) and it was available on the A model. The V-10 is only available on the S model. There are several other less significant standard options on the S model, but that is about it. Just so you know, the 4.2 V-8 available in the A model is a pretty strong runner, so unless you feel extravagant, stick with the A model. BTW, the A4 and S4 are the same body as well, one is not larger than the other. The A4 had a 1.8L turbo I-4, 2.8L V-6, 3.0L V-6, and now 2.0L turbo I-4 ,and 3.2L V-6 engines available. The S4 had a 2.7L turbo V-6, and now has a 4.2L V-8 available.|||s8 is more luxerious, the s stands for sport tuned im not sure about the a8 but the a4 is smaller in size then the s4
a4 has a 4 cylinder and s4 has a v8.|||The "S" car is the sports derivative of the model. Pretty much like comparing a BMW 5 series and the BMW M 5 series.|||I have an audi r8 and its totally awesome.. dont get ethier of those. get the r8
